Announcing...Book #3!

Introverts is underway!

September 1, 2022

What do you do once you finish writing a book? Well, you begin the next one.

I'm very excited to announce that I've been sitting on this news for a few weeks while I did some work behind the scenes, but I am officially signed on to write my third published book for Rowman & Littlefield's YA non-fiction series.

This one is for the introverts!

Identity is complex and ever-shifting through our lifetimes, and yet the introverted temperament has been proven generally stable from childhood onward—it is not a quality to “outgrow.” In fact, nearly half of all Americans are introverted, a figure likely similar in other countries. Despite being a significant and perfectly normal portion of the population, adolescents experience tremendous cultural pressure to exhibit extroverted traits in order to be considered successful, sociable, and likable. Young introverts are often misunderstood and stigmatized; meanwhile, their vivid inner lives and intelligences, passions, and warmth go overlooked. The goal of this book I'm working on is to offer a comprehensive, accessible overview of introversion—including an exploration of the difficulties introverts may face while also highlighting how introverts can harness the unique abilities offered by their temperament.

As with my previous books, I'm seeking interviews—and not only with introverts! Do you consider yourself an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert? I want to talk to everyone! Would you be willing to do an online interview/survey about your experiences (especially during adolescence)?

If so, please reach out using this form! I will get in touch with you with more information and questions. Thank you to everyone as always for the wonderful support!
